Water retaining crystals – also known as “swell gel”
Description
Broadleaf’s water retaining polymer granules absorb large amounts of water, forming a gel and acting as a reservoir in the soil, can absorb hundreds of times its own weight of water. Incorporated into soil (or compost) the polymer granules act as thousands of tiny reservoirs of water. Plant roots colonise these reservoirs and can extract over 95% of the stored water. Inert, safe and durable for all plant species in all types of growing media and is non-contaminating.

Increases available water holding of soil, sand & compost to alleviate moisture stress in vegetation.
Can greatly extend intervals between watering.
Combats soil compaction improves structure.
Reduces leaching loss of fertiliser.
Application guidelines:
in compost:
1g per L of compostfor normal plants = 1 kg per cubic meter of compost.
1.75g per L of compostfor hanging baskets, window boxes = 1.75 kgs per cubic meter.
Ensure uniform distribution of P4 in the compost.
in soil:
High density planting of Shrubs, Ground Cover, Bedding etc. apply 100 grams/square meter & cultivate into the top 20-30 cm of soil.
For field sowing or planting eg. Carrots, Onions, Brassicas, Strawberries the P4 can be drilled into the seed row or precision placed in the soil at each plant station.
For row drilling 100 grams/square meter would cover eg. 20 meters run of row @ 5cm scatter width.
For placement at each plant station 2-5 grams/plant depending on the crop, soil and climatic conditions would be suitable application rates.
